Orchestra in Your Brain?

Hello, everyone:
Yesterday I was riding back home in the school bus and suddenly heard music in the backround, which turned out to be one of the students 4 seets behind me to the right. No, of cource it doesn't bother me, as I myself enjoy listening to Bach at a deasent volume, and it feels like having an orchestra in my brain. Yet I wonder if excessive loud music would cause hearing problems in the future? I'd think it would...

Yes, it's been medically established that people who constantly listen to IPods and other devices too loud do cause hearing damage.

Hmm I find this most interesting, Because on my long rides home every weekend I listen to music really loudly. I much rather block out the noise of everyone screaming and such. But I do worry I will damage my hearing by doing this.

I've heard that people in Germany have become deaf because of this. Personally, if I don't feel like hearing certain people or conversations then I play music a little too loud, but it's not often... But not to the point where my head hurts because then I'd regret such pleasure... I also feel that listening to music so loud that the stereo speakers in the car vibrate is quight dangerous when driving

I think listening to loud music on headphones is worse than listening to it through speakers, but both can damage hearing.

I don't even think it has to be all that loud on headphones because it is much closer to your eardrums and can probably do more damage even if it is not as loud as music that you are further away from.

Yes, what everyone else said. I think people are asking for trouble if they have their music up loud with ear buds in as they're even closer to the ear drums.

Yeah, the more direct way of listening to loud music can cause the most hearing damage, i.e. ear buds. However, if you are frequent to parties with bands or highly amplified speakers, those have a higher decibal rate which can cause just as much, if not more hearing damage. It depends on how loud in decibals, I don't know the exact amount but when you get to a certain decibal level that opens up the risk of hearing damage and/or loss. I remember after going to an extremely loud Cajun band in this small bar in New Orleans, that had my ears ringing for hours which can be another side effect.

To cut down on the volume you require to drown out background noise, buy a pair of noise canceling headphones for your device.
You can have your volume at a soft easy rate, about 3% on an iPhone, and enjoy your music and cut out the screaming. No need to crank.
Also buying better headphones, not cheap ones, allow your device to not be cranked as well because the drivers are more efficient.
Sure, these cost a little more, but are worth every dollar in saving your hearing, and quality of sound, comfort, and warrantees.
Maybe you pay $150 and up for a decent, quality pair, unless you shop well, but that is worth it in my opinion.
Just want it quiet, just slip your headphones on and chill with nothing playing in them at all.
If you use a cellphone as your device, many have the 3 button switches for answering your calls, and for us, listening to your voice.

Which brand of headphones are they?

They said this shit back in the eighties about walk man headphones. It's probably true to some extent. I wonder about bone conduction headphones though.

Several brand. I current like Klipsch image one-II for second generation. These are on ear not en ear, but they have both types and they keep out noise.
Bose, has some, but they don't seem to cover Android, Klipsch does, and Apple as well.
Sony has some and they also cover both Android and Apple.
I like on ear because they feel good to me, and the Klipsch are soft, light, and most of all the drivers don't require much to get them going.
Take a trip to a Best Buy, or Radioshack, and you can actually listen to some selections. Not en ear of course, but most hi end brands will take them back if you hate them.
If want to see them online add the .com to the names I've given you.
Klipsch also has a new White pair that are beautiful I'll get, but the black can be haed for aroud 76 to 90 due to the new color.
Do I seem like a Klipsch add? I don't mean to. Lol

No, this information is new and helpful, thank you so very much. I will definitely look into them, as I myself love listening to music without backroundd noise, lol!

Any of the hi end companies will respond to email questions.
For example, you want to know how they look, because the discription on the site is not clear enough for you. You are paying a premium price, so ask. Smile.
If you find a pair you are drooling over, but want the best possible price and want to compare what I can find, please ask.
Everything most times can be located for less if you know how.

Holy shit! Loud music can lead to hearing loss? Really? Jeepers creepers, I never ever knew that! Sarcasm, in case some dumb ass doesn't get it.

I like the Triton brand, as they work universally (pretty much with everything). Play stations, computers, Apple products, the radio, anything. And they are some damn good sound cancelling head phones.

Now a very unhealthy advise. If you like Bach, listen with a nice highvolume the first choral of St. John's Passion! This is music of God or music of the stars or something! Star Wars music style version 18th century but much better!

Post 20 by Dolce Eleganza (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Thursday, 16-May-2013 11:15:24

I absolutely love bach! :) I'll do that, of course it's much better ^_^

Post 21 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 17-May-2013 8:59:15

I am a fan of Bach. I've played some Chorales of his, and I think the band is going to learn Brandonberg Concierto at some point.

Post 23 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 17-May-2013 12:08:01

I play the tuba and the string bass, the steel drums, the bass guitar, and the saxophone.

Thank you for your complement. I also like to produce using Garage Band for my iOS devices and occasionally I will use Reaper for Windows. But yeah, Bach is amazing!

When you speak of garage band and all this other stuff, I'm clueless, lol! I guess I'd better learn
